Most already assembled ETrikes have Hub motors. They only ones I have seen that weren't was British made.

I had damaged my 1T4 cable and replaced it. With the replacement cable, the throttle is unreponsive and I get Error 21 instead of a speed reading. Everything else seems to work. I have yet another new cable coming in the mail. Anyone ever have something similar happen?

My 500w Bafang mid-drive conversion on my 29” full suspension MTB was the best thing I could have done. I see the wattage peak at 800 watts at times. Triple bypass surgery required i make some positive lifestyle changes. I live around hills and mountains and a regular bike was too taxing. E-bike pedal assist is fun, not too taxing, building DIY cost 1/3 of new e-bikes, and looks really good.

I've read that the torque rating is 160 nm, but i assume that it is on 52V? What would the rating be on 48V? Id like to do a build, but budget is the biggest hurdle.

As a BBS02 owner i can tell that none of these upgrades are necessary unless you have money to throw away!.

True, true, the nr 1 upgrade was switching to a 34T chain ring. Can flip at steep hills but never stalls :D

For those doing a build like this do NOT leave the motor hanging like that then tighten. it WILL eventually loosen up, and flip up on you. They make a stabilize bracket just for these bafange motors and mounting them this way. UA-cam won't let me link so google search (BSB-1 Stabilizer Bar for BBS02 and BBSHD) from Luna Cycles $15. It will replace the stock motor mount plate.
